Best Value Golf Push Carts 2024
With an array of quality golf push carts on the market, we take a look at the ones that offer the best value for money.
Push carts have come a long way over the years.
Where once they were cumbersome and tricky to erect, they are now lightweight and easy to use, making them a great alternative to carrying your bag out on the course. They can be particularly handy on undulating golf courses that are a more challenging walk. Over the closing holes of a round, having fresher legs can really help your score.
But not only do the best push carts help you to save energy over 18 holes, they typically provide extra storage too, for golf balls, tees and your scorecard - ideal if you often find yourself scrabbling around in your bag for a new ball or a fresh tee peg.
While some golfers prefer the added convenience that the best electric trolleys provide, push carts offer many of the same advantages but are generally far more affordable. Here we look at some of the best value push carts on the market that are just that, delivering plenty of features without a premium price tag.

The best affordable golf carts need to be straightforward to use. They need to fold and unfold with ease, yet still deliver plenty of stability when in use. The Bag Boy Nitron Push Cart does just that.
During our testing we found it to be lightweight and easy to erect. The single action of the folding mechanism is really smooth. But vitally this didn’t impact on the cart’s sturdiness. Out on the course it's exceptionally stable - one of the best we’ve tested in this regard - with the bungee straps holding our bag in place securely. While the fixed front wheel adds to the cart’s stability it does slightly impair the steering. However, after a few rounds with Nitron we were able to steer with ease. The cart looks and feels durable too.
Despite it being competitively priced, the Nitron is loaded with extra features. It boasts a scorecard console alongside holders for a drink, a mobile phone and an umbrella as well storage for your golf balls. There’s also a handle-mounted brake.
The compact nature of the cart when folded means that it’s not only a cinch to get into the trunk of your car, it’s also easily stored at home. All considered it's little wonder that it featured in our Editors Choice Awards.

When it comes to maneuverability, the Eze Glide Smart Fold is hard to beat. We had no trouble pushing it with one hand, even when we had to navigate corners and inclines on the course. Part of this is undoubtedly due the lightweight nature of the cart - and at under 16 lbs, or 7.2kg, it’s also easy to lift in and out of the car.
The ease-of-use theme continues. The three-wheeled cart is straightforward to pack away and store. It also has a clearly visible footbrake and an adjustable handle. During testing we found both great to use, with the brake easy to push down and pull up with the toe of your shoe, while we customized the handle height to make for a more comfortable experience.
Importably, we found that the trolley was a good fit for a range of bags thanks to the adjustable brackets. Accessories are plentiful on the Eze Glide Smart Fold too, with a dry space for your valuables, an umbrella holder, a scorecard holder and wheel covers all coming as standard. All told it’s a great value push cart that lives up to its name.

The V1R ticks all the important boxes for any push cart. We found that it was easy to set up, folding and unfolding with no issue. Once out on the course, we were impressed with both its stability and its maneuverability. Given that it's not the lightest of carts, weighing around 18lbs, it’s a credit to the design that it felt far lighter when pushed around the course.
Sun Mountain’s Speed Cart range has been around since 1999 and has been a dominating presence ever since. Much of its reputation and appeal comes from the sheer functionality - and we were pleased to find that this remains the case with the V1R. Our bag secured easily and stayed in place, despite the undulations of the course. Then there was the aforementioned stability and the ‘feather light’ feel, with the three-wheel design hugging the turf.
But that’s not all. The V1R has plenty of neat accessories, all as standard. There are holders for a drinks bottle and an umbrella, as well as a storage tray and a mesh basket that help to keep your scorecard, phone or wallet organized. Ten different color options only add to the appeal of this highly dependable cart.

Given that you need to transport your trolley to the golf course as well as store it at home when it’s not in use, a compact design can be really handy. And Motocaddy’s Cube is just that.
Well-known for making some of the best electric golf trolleys on the market, this offering combines a clever two-step folding system with an overall lightweight design to create a cart that we really enjoyed using. When folded the cart’s handle can be used to carry it, making it nice and easy to get in and out the trunk of your car.
Once unfolded, the adjustable bag supports work well with most golf bags and held ours securely throughout testing. The Cube boasts plenty of other handy features too. There's a good amount of storage for your essentials, with ball holders, a scorecard clip and a net for your valuables. The cart’s handle also opens up to reveal some extra storage space. A good footbrake is a trolly essentia if you regularly play on undulating courses and here we found it straightforward and effective to use.
If there’s a downside to this great value push cart it’s lightweight design means that it’s perhaps not as stable as some of the heavier designs - so perhaps not the best choice for a windy day on the links. But that aside, it’s a wonderfully compact and functional trolley with a price tag that only adds to its appeal.

The standout feature here is the trolley’s two-wheel design. It’s pretty unique in a world where three-wheels rule. But the quirks don’t stop there. The cart can be permanently attached to your bag, with just the XL wheels removed and then fitted when needed. It means few moving parts and a quick set-up once the cart is out of the trunk. Combined with the sturdy aluminum frame it adds up to an stylish yet sturdy looking cart.
Another design feature we appreciated is the ability to both push and pull the cart. We found it easier to pull uphill but to push when going down for improved control. Another detail that left us impressed were the elasticated phone straps. Holding your phone securely in place they allow you to use the device as a GPS or even record your golf swing. We also loved that the center console, which provides a good amount of storage space, comes with its own pencil sharpener!
All of these elements are reflective of the Switch’s thoughtful design, proof that a different approach to push carts can be just as effective.

The 360˚ Swivel Ease Push Trolley is another cart with an interesting design. As the name implies, it features a front wheel that swivels. The idea here is that it provides greater maneuverability. It’s a feature that’s likely to divide opinion, and we’ll be honest we switched it off for much of the time.
Assembly is fairly straightforward. The wheels attach and remove with ease and it folds down to leave you with a really small item, ideal when storing it at home and great for the trunk of your car - it’s certainly one of the most compact golf trolleys we’ve come across.
However, we found that the lower assembly was a little trickier to master but once together it makes for a solid and stable trolley.
Features are plentiful. We particularly liked the umbrella holder but we’re slightly less impressed with the brake. While we found it easy to put on, its placement by the left wheel of the cart made it far harder to release. Whether this is a dealbreaker will depend on just how much you rely on a trolley’s brake during any given round.
How we test golf carts
All of these carts have been rigorously tested. As with any product we review at Golf Monthly, this means assessing their performance over multiple rounds of golf and in varying conditions. By doing this we can provide an unbiased opinion that’s based directly on our experiences with the cart and our knowledge of others - this allows us to compare and contrast, with the hope of offering you as much valuable advice as possible.
It’s important to add that manufacturer’s cannot buy a good review. Everything you read here is born from our time with the carts, as we evaluate their strengths and weaknesses.
How to choose a golf cart
The golf trolley marketplace is a pretty crowded one, even if you’re narrowing down your search to the best value push carts only.
So how do you choose the right cart for you? Here are a few factors to consider before you buy.
Electric or Push
The first decision to make is whether you want to go electric or are happy to push your cart. Unsurprisingly, electric models are more expensive but can save you energy over the course of a round. On the other hand push carts are more affordable and are typically lighter and more compact when folded down.
Features
It's worth assessing just what you want from a trolley. Do you need it to simply hold your golf bag in place as you walk around the course? Or are you looking for additional features too? Many of the carts reviewed here have great storage options for spare balls, tees and your valuables. You’ll also find models with umbrellas and scorecard holders. If you’re a golfer who typically carries plenty of ‘essentials’ with you during a round, look for a cart that has a generous amount of space on offer.
Ease of use
A golf trolley has to be functional. Part of this is just how easy it is to use. Its primary goal is to make your round of golf a little easier. So while it can’t hit that low punch under the trees for you it can, and should, work flawlessly between shots.
Ease-of-use also pertains to the cart’s ability to fold and unfold without issue. We find that some designs are just more straightforward to use with this regard - so it’s worth taking a close look at the design and perhaps even using a fellow golfer’s cart to see how you get on with it.
Durability
If you play plenty of golf, your trolley is going to get plenty of use. Given that they are folded and unfolded regularly and have to deal with inclement weather and wet and muddy courses, you need to choose a design that looks like it’s up to the task. We’d suggest opting for a model that’s made from strong yet light materials such as aluminum.
Price
Naturally your choice will be governed to some degree by your budget. Like the vast majority of golf equipment there are carts at every price point. If money is no object then you might want to opt for one of the best remote control golf trolleys. However, as this guide shows, there are plenty of great options at lower price points.
FAQs
Is it worth buying a golf push cart?
100%! Firstly, they are so much easier to use than carrying a golf bag and are considerably cheaper than an electric cart. What's more, you don't use as much energy when you are pushing a cart, therefore, you can commit to more shots as you aren't going to be as tired.
Should you push or pull your golf cart?
When it comes to maneuvering your golf cart we feel you should always push it. The reason is because pushing your cart is easier and doesn't put as much strain on your back and shoulders, as a result, you can focus on your golf game and preserve energy.
